(Actual totals may differ slightly)
If you have already voted, this week make it your goal to register one other, be it your neighbour, friend, business, fax line. If you did we'd be in the top ten exchanges. Easy. Come on 'Emlyn'.
Newcastle Emlyn has 216 Votes! 12.58% of Newcastle Emlyn's residents have voted. Votes do seem to have hit a plateau though, we are slipping position as other exchanges gain more votes, and also reach around 13% of the Vote. The percentage for 10th hasn't changed much, so its still possible. We need to be in the top five to Win.
Please spread the word, by making sure your neighbours, friends have voted. If you visit any business in town, ask/pester if they have voted (if enough people do - business/people will), there really should be a minimum of 185 Votes from all the business lines, alone.
Business's you really aren't doing your part. If your a business and have dealings with others business/people in town - pester them to Vote - it's in your/their interest. How often does a business get offered something useful, with the minimum of 'paperwork' and no cost if you don't use it (and a much reduced cost if you do) There is no obligation here - its just to show an interest - come on do your bit - if you have resources / ideas to help - get in touch - email: nofibre@gmail.com. Remember to register you FAX lines (ie. each line seperately) too.
216 Votes/Registrations, 13.06% out of 1654 Premises. We are currently in 49th Position (down from 34th).
Newcastle Emllyn is currently second highest in Wales!
(Castleton, Gwent leads in Wales, but its votes were all registered very quickly in the first week and hasn't risen much since, so its possible we are actually in first place in Wales)
The Voting/Registration Scheme is via the BT Website:
www.bt.com/racetoinfinity
BT have made the registration process slightly harder.
Please don't be put off!
You now need to enter a captcha.
(A captcha is a type of challenge-response test used in computing to ensure that the response is not generated by a computer)
You have to indicate whether you line is Business or Residential.
A Big thank you to everyone who has voted so far, please rally your neighbours to make sure they have voted. We can do this!

Simply, if BT asks the question 'Would you like Superfast fibre optic Broadband in your town?' We, as a community would be stupid to say No. BT are unlikely to ask the question twice.
