Competition closed 31/12/10. Thanks to everyone for voting, who did. The voting method would have been probably being the easiest in terms of ever getting Superfast Broadband into Newcastle Emlyn. We reached three hundred votes, which is respectable, and far higher than most towns in Wales.
The competition was more a case of making sure that when asked, we responded that as a town that we're not happy having a 2-tier Britain, regarding connection speeds. Many outlying areas of the town are still only getting half a meg, connection. That was available more than 10 years ago in major cities.
Sadly, Superfast Broadband is pretty much a distant dream for at least the next 5 years, if not longer. And getting it any other way is going to take a lot more effort than just a leaflet drop/website.
